Three case carved wood inro, Flycatcher design (Sankocho). The birds song apparently sounds like the words; tsuki-hi-hoshi (moon, sun, stars) and is reputedly the most beautiful song of any of Japans birds. Interior lacquered in rich black lacquer, the rims lacquered gold.
Signed: Shoto 松涛. Likely a follower of Yasusada Shuzan or Hidari Issan.
