A generously-sized ebony study of a horse on a base with lacquered eyes.
The modelling is excellent with numerous subtle details which, in this material, are difficult to capture in an image. With the aid of a magnifying glass, one can see delineation of hoof, coronet and fetlock. Hairwork is present and the base is ergonomically asymmetric following the contours of the horse. Lovely touches, on a fine netsuke.
