A small and expressive netsuke. Possibly a Rakugo or a Blind man. He is wearing a generous overcoat with wide sleeves that descend to the floor. Folds at the chest denote under-garments, and creases around the knees along with a large pleat show he is wearing hakama, actually the common attire of the guild for the blind, todoza. A chimney type himotoshi completes the necessities for use as a functional Netsuke.
