A fine old netsuke of the sleeping Chajin design.
Research into this and numerous closely related models suggests that the maker of this particular netsuke was Hoshin. He does not, however, appear to have originated the design. In our opinion, that distinction belongs to an earlier lineage, with which Hoshin may once have been associated as a deshi.
